The most common questions we get from our clients
Pre/Post Tan Care
Skin prep before
- Shower, Wax, shave, exfoliate and REPEAT at least 12-48 hours prior. Use razors without a moisture strip.
- Exfoliate! Stay away from a body scrub/loofah combo as most are oil-based and will leave a residue. Instead, use an exfoliating mitt. Exfoliate THOROUGHLY to remove dead skin and provide a new, smooth surface for your tan. This promotes even coverage and can extend the life of your tan.
- Spray tanning should always be the last beauty treatment completed due to barriers that spa treatment products can create. Complete all facials, and massages, mani, pedi, the day prior to your spray tan.
- Avoid using lotions, oils, and deodorant the day of your appointment as they can leave a barrier on your skin that the tan will not adhere to.
- Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing with open-toes sandals. Any bar soaps/cream-based body washes or Dove products. They will leave a residue on the skin and can create a barrier that the tan cannot penetrate through and may leave streaks. Any gel-based body wash is best. Showering should be completed at least four hours prior to tanning to allow your pH levels to neutralize. If you must shower within four hours, run cold shower water at the end of your shower.
